Technology Personified

I drew some sketches to be used for a project on personifying inanimate objects. I chose the cell phone and started sketching some of the ways I imagine it would feel in everyday situations. As it falls to the ground, damaged with a cracked screen, smushed into a crowded pocket, bound up when it’s on “silent,” drooping when its dying, crawling to the cord, fear of being replaced. Towards the end it started to be more of how it now runs our lives, busy nonstop, we’re chained to it, and it’s being smothered by the constant messages/alerts.

I drew out three of my favourites before chosing the one to finalize.
